Privacy Policy
Last updated June 2026
This policy explains what The Ravenry (operated on behalf of Jenny Raven) collects, why, and what rights you have. We aim to collect as little as we can to run a good community.
What we collect
You give us:your email, a display name and handle, your date of birth (to confirm you’re 18+), your password (stored only as a secure hash), and anything you choose to add — bio, photos, posts, messages, writing.
We generate:basic technical data needed to keep you signed in and the Service secure. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t run third-party advertising trackers.
How we use it
To run your account, show your content to the people you intend, send service emails (verification, password resets, and notifications you can turn off), and keep the community safe. Your date of birth is used only to confirm your age and is never shown to other members.
Who can see what
Your profile and posts are visible to signed-in members. Published blog posts are public and may be indexed by search engines. Your private messages are visible only to you and the person you’re writing to. We don’t show your email or date of birth to other members.
Transactional email (verification, password resets, message notifications) is sent through a third-party email provider. We send the minimum needed and you can disable optional notifications.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can access, correct, export, or delete your data. You can delete your account at any time from Account settings — this removes your profile, posts, photos, messages and other content. To exercise any other right, email hello@jennyraven.com.
Retention & security
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account we remove your personal content; some minimal records may be retained briefly where the law requires. We protect your data with sensible technical measures, including hashed passwords and encrypted connections.
